This is a certified course with 27 hours CPD for those of you who need that sort of thing! It is also a pre-requiste for any mindful teacher training you are interested in, including mindfulness for children.
Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is a cognitive and behavioural program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre, which uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and yoga (though I teach more mindful movement than yoga) to help people become more mindful. In recent years this meditation course has been the subject of controlled clinical research which has found beneficial effects, including stress reduction, relaxation, and improvements to quality of life. While MBSR has its roots in spiritual teachings, the program itself is secular.
