Special Mindfulness Retreat: ‘the art of nourishment’ led by Bridgeen, Bronagh & Celia

“The art of nourishment”  special mindfulness retreat facilitated by Mindfulness Teacher, Bridgeen Rea and local Artist Bronagh Lawson @ the Narrows, Portaferry with delicious food prepared by Celia Spoucer

We will aim to nourish your mind, body and spirt. This will be a weekend to really relax, restore and renew yourself with gentle, guided mindfulness practice, nourishing food (with time to savour and taste it) and the added bonus of an opportunity to get creative under the expert guidance of an experienced artist facilitator.  You may be an artist yourself or just interested in starting a creative hobby.  This weekend will cater for all.

Everything will be provided to ensure you have space to be, breath and create.  This is a unique and special opportunity! Don’t miss it! 🙂

Artist Bronagh Lawson is founder of www.creativechangeni.com. Originally from Portaferry and Strangford she believes that each person has a creative self, capable of artistic expression – if only it was encouraged and nurtured. Bronagh has a huge range of skill areas from textiles, photography, jewellery, painting,  printmaking and drawing. During the retreat she will help facilitate your own artistic expression using a variety of materials drawing from the beautiful surroundings of Strangford lough as inspiration.

Suitable for all levels of experience the retreat art sessions  will consist of group and individual work finishing in a temporary pop up  exhibition in the Narrows of Art produced over the weekend.  (See your work exhibited!)

There will be an opportunity to have some one-to-one feedback time if you have a portfolio of art work or are working on an existing art  project and would like some feedback. However, this is not a requirement.

Bronagh was trained in Bristol, Winchester school of Art and Parsons School of Art New York. She spent 13 years developing and running cross-community cross-border creative projects before returning to her artistic practice. She is now based in Belfast.

Bridgeen Rea is a qualified and experienced mindfulness teacher skilled in guiding new and old mindfulness practioners in the art of slowing down and saving every moment. Your new or renewed taste of the wonder of mindfulness will enhance and enrich your creative experience, hopefully providing inspiration for your art work.

Celia is head of the slow food movement in Ireland and owner of the Narrows in Portaferry…..

Limited spaces available.  This is will be a small intimate retreat with periods of noble silence.

Tickets are not refundable or transferable – thanks for your understanding.

JULY Mindful Self Compassion Workshop

The May and June workshops on this topic sold out so please book asap 🙂

Kind and self-compassionate practices to set you up for your week ahead.

Mindful self-compassion is the foundation of emotional healing—being aware in the present moment when we’re struggling with feelings of inadequacy, despair, confusion, and other forms of stress (mindfulness) and responding with kindness and understanding (self-compassion). Mindful self-compassion also means holding difficult emotions—fear, anger, sadness, shame and self-doubt—and ourselves, in loving awareness, leading to greater ease and well-being in our daily lives.

Mindful self-compassion can be learned by anyone. It’s the practice of repeatedly evoking good will toward ourselves especially when we’re suffering—cultivating the same desire that all living beings have to live happily and free from suffering. And as the Dalai Lama says, self-compassion is the first step toward compassion for others.

The workshop is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced practitioners 🙂

Tickets are non-refundable. Thank you.
